Coupa deletes its share priceTurns out spending management company Coupa isn’t so great at managing its own spending.
🔍 Key points:
- Coupa Software fell nearly 20% on Tuesday to a three year low after delivering a mixed bag of Q4 earnings, beating on EPS estimates with $0.19 per share (well above the $0.05 expected) on revenues that missed estimates at $193.3m.
- Apparently the firm is a bit of a spendthrift. The disappointing results follow somewhat of an acquisition spree from Coupa, which has bought over five companies since late 2018, putting pressure on margins and having yet to bring in much value add to revenue.
- Guidance kicked investors while they were down. Coupa expects current quarter earnings to come in around $0.03 per share on revenues of $191m, missing estimates for EPS of $0.05 on revenues of $196m, and leading to a bunch of analyst downgrades.
